An unremarkable 1970s brick bungalow has been reimagined and partially recycled to create a contemporary two level dwelling which enjoys spectacular views across Moreton Bay towards the Glasshouse mountains. At ground floor level three bedrooms and two bathrooms were retained and re-roofed as part of the new design, and a new upper level master bedroom retreat was placed atop a reconfigured ground floor plan arrangement. At the centre of the new ground floor plan is a sheltered courtyard which captures the morning sun, and which becomes the main gathering space of the new house. Portions of the existing brick garage has also been recycled to form a new spa and lounge area located next to the upgraded existing pool.
