Corinda House

This new house in the Western Brisbane suburb of Corinda is located on a sloping North-facing Small Lot. The brief called for five bedrooms plus a further study bedroom for visiting grandparents. Covered terraces to both the master bedroom and the main living area are given a primary Northern aspect. The overall volume of the house is bifurcated by a central double height East-facing courtyard which provides light and natural ventilation to four of the five bedrooms.

At the street end of the building, the roof is angled upwards to the West to spatially emphasise the entry sequence. This volume continues into the entrance hall which accommodates a stair to the lower level and a desk overlooking the main courtyard. Both internally and externally, timber lined and tiled surfaces are included to accentuate selected spaces.
