A few early concept sketches for an alts and adds project overlooking a beautiful gulley in the Brisbane inner-city suburb of #highgatehill. A central top-lit void characterises the proposed section, which separates two chamfered and tilted ceiling planes. Lovely to have recently been gifted a wonderful little publication on Hugh Buhrich's iconic 1972 house in Castlecrag, Sydney (thank you Liam!). The documentation and design of the catalogue is credited to Neil Durbach and Cathy Lassen, assisted by Margaret McKenna and Flavio Marcello, all of whom must presumably have collaborated to produce the beautiful drawings within.

We're excited by the outcome of another enjoyable design collaboration with @studioworkshop for this compact multi-residential scheme for four apartments at Miami on the Gold Coast. The DA for the scheme has now been lodged with the GCCC. With a narrower site than the previous Paradise Point scheme, the vertical circulation had to be pulled forward towards the street. This board form concrete element has been captured by extensions to the adjacent terrace slab edges to hopefully accentuate the building's articulation and presence to the street

Thanks so much to our friends at @studioworkshop on the Gold Coast for inviting us to collaborate on a joint venture for the design of these four apartments at Paradise Point. This has been a really enjoyable challenge over the last couple of months and the DA has now been lodged.
The project has a lovely site with views to the North-East over the Broadwater, and to the North-West towards the hinterland.
A series of fixed and movable three dimensional screens bring articulation, animation and colour to the side facades, while a generous communal rooftop area provides a amenity for the residents.
